Volunteer with LAWA

Help open doors for Latino students across the Charlotte region.

At LAWA, volunteers play an important role in helping students and families feel welcomed, supported, and connected. Whether you are greeting families at a workshop, mentoring a college student, sharing your professional journey, or helping at one of our events, your time helps strengthen pathways to education, opportunity, and community.

Representation matters. When students see professionals who share their background, language, or lived experiences, it helps them imagine new possibilities for their own futures.

Ways to Volunteer

High School Series - Welcome Committee

Volunteers help create welcoming and meaningful experiences for students and families participating in LAWA programs.

Mentor a LAWA Scholar

Our mentorship opportunities connect LAWA Scholars with caring professionals and community members who can offer encouragement, guidance, and perspective as students navigate college and career pathways.

Share Your Skills and Expertise

LAWA also welcomes volunteers who want to support our mission by sharing their professional skills behind the scenes. These opportunities are a meaningful way to contribute your expertise while helping LAWA strengthen our programs, communications, and community reach.
