Alejandra Elliot, Ph.D.
Alejandra Elliot was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She taught English as a Foreign Language in high schools in Buenos Aires and Ciudad Guayana, Venezuela. In the United States, she’s taught intermediate and advanced Spanish courses in public and private schools. Alejandra arrived in Charlotte with her husband and three children in 1989 and has been an active member of LAWA since 1994.
Alejandra finished her undergraduate studies at Queens University of Charlotte, where she majored in English and Spanish. She then went on to obtain her Masters in English as a Second Language (ESL) and then pursued her Doctorate in Cirriculum Instruction at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC).
Alejandra’s passion is to, through LAWA, not only offer financial support to high school students and women but also to offer advice on nagivating collegiate procedures to empower them to function in the competitive job market. In addition to LAWA, Alejandra serves on the boards and commitees of several other organizations.
