Scholarships
Purpose:
The purpose of LAWA Scholarships is to financially support and encourage Latino students residing in Mecklenburg, Concord/Cabarrus, Gaston, South Iredell/Mooresville and Union counties in the state of North Carolina to pursue higher education. Only students meeting all the requirements will be considered for LAWA scholarships. Scholarships are awarded once per year to students who have demonstrated academic achievement, financial need, and community involvement.
Selection Process:
A Scholarship Committee appointed by LAWA meets in early spring to select the students who will be awarded the scholarships based on academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, financial need, and community involvement.
Awards Presentation:
The Scholarship Awards Ceremony is scheduled in June of each year. All scholarship recipients, families, and community are invited.
Application Deadline:
Must be postmarked no later than April 20th, 2012.
